I remember when I was a kid Did you parents of your friends parents have one of those old school Station Wagon's? You know, the one's that had wood paneling on the outside and 3 rows of seats on the inside? 3 rows of seats was amazing. Other than a van, no other vehicle could accommodate this many people.

With Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV's) and Minivan's hitting the scene, the Station Wagon went away quick. The newer vehicles were just bigger, more useful, and , well, cooler looking. (That last one is up for debate) Even the the innovative tailgate went away until Honda brought it back on their Ridgeline truck. (Swings out and folds down)

Here was the problem: the Minivan had a lot more room than the wagon and was easier to load passengers in and out of. The SUV was higher off the ground, which more and more people were beginning to like. They also really looked good and gave the people the preservation that they were safer in the SUV. Given those issues, there was no more room for the wagon in the marketplace.

If you need room, an SUV or a Minivan could be for you. Check out these popular models:

SUV's -- The larger SUV became hugely popular in the 1990's. Gas was cheap, the economy was good and everybody wanted and SUV. Though things have changed over the last few years with the sky-high gas prices and the economy in the tank, many people still have the need for them. Most of them can get in around 20 MPG city/highway combined, which is not terribly awful.

Traverse: Chevy -- Nice little 7 seater. Smaller than the Pilot, but gets pretty good gas mileage for that type of vehicle.

Honda Pilot -- The Pilot cam out in 2003 (to replace the Passport) and was always rated high from the start. The newest version came out in 2009 and did not disappoint. They come in 2WD or 4WD and have a Variable Cylinder Management system for better gas mileage.

2010 Highlander -- It comes in a 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder and a hybrid version. It seats 7 and has been a favorite over the last several years.

Minivans -- If you can get past the stigma, Minivan's are as about as useful a vehicle that you can purchase. They flat-out drive like a car and have an unbelievable amount of space. Don't laugh at them, they are incredibly useful and are looking cooler and cooler every year.

2010 Honda Odyssey -- With 8 passenger seating and a V-6 engine with 250hp, the Odyssey is usually regarded as one of the top 3 Minivans that you can buy.

2010 Chrysler Town and Country -- Usually considered one of the top 3 Minivans out there, the Town and Country has been around for awhile. With its stow-and-go seats, it is definitely unique.

2010 Toyota Sienna -- Look for this model to be redesigned for 2011. It currently offers 4WD, but is not quite as finished off as the Odyssey or Town and Country. Just my opinion.

Although everybody seems to looking for fuel efficiency these days, people do need the space for 7 or 8 passengers. The vehicles above are definitely some of the best and should help get you started in your search.

Check out the cars/trucks above. It will be a good start for you.

Mere mortals like us already consider hiring top-of-the-line airport limos in NY for our wedding to be an expensive extravagance.

But when you are an oil magnate or the daughter of one of the world’s richest men, then you would not even think twice about hiring every company that offers prime limousines, who cares if it’s not a cheap limo in Queens if it would ensure all your wedding guests will arrive to your wedding in style.

An affordable limo in NY would usually matter to folks who have to keep an eight to five job in order to survive, but if you’re one of the world’s business tycoons, no doubt you can spend for all your caprice even buy all of the Staten Island prom limos !

Consider the case of Vanisha Mittal and Amit Bhatia for example. When Mittal, daughter of the fifth richest man in the world married Bhatia in 2004, they had 20-page invitations encased in silver boxes made, flew in and housed 1,000 guests in a 5-star hotel in Paris, hired Kylie Minogue to perform at one of the many wedding parties they held and gave away jewel-filled bags as party favors. The wedding, which was held at the Palace of Versailles, is the world’s most expensive wedding and cost the bride’s father, Lakshmi Mittal, a staggering $60 million.

Ultra expensive weddings such as the Mittal-Bhatia nuptials seem to be the norm among the richest of the rich. More and more of the world’s billionaires seem to be bent on throwing their children or themselves a celebration worthy of being mentioned not only in the New York Post’s Page Six but the respected financial-magazine Forbes as well.

For his equally extravagant but less expensive wedding for example, Russian Andrei Melnichenko and his Yugoslavian beauty queen-wife Aleksandra Kokotovic had a chapel in Russia dismantled then shipped and rebuilt in France (or at least that was what the gossip mills said). And while Mittal had Kylie Minouge, Melnichenko’s Cote de Azur-wedding featured performances from not one but two pop superstars: Christina Aguilera and Whitney Houston.

Such outrageous excessiveness is hard for us to fathom since we ordinary citizens of America have to take so many important things into consideration before we can even think about buying a gold bracelet or renting Dutchess prom limousines for our teenage daughters. We think about where the money of the rich could have been spent -- the $60 million the Mittal’s spent on their wedding could have bought years supply of lifesaving antiretroviral drugs for the sick or could have fed millions of needy individuals --and shudder. The rich, many of us think, just have way too much money for their own good.

But the truth is, when it comes to spending for our weddings, the only difference between the billionaires and ordinary couples is how much money they have at their disposal. As a survey conducted by a credit card company showed for example, two-thirds of American couples “spent too much for their wedding”. This implies that just like those in the uppermost tip of the earnings percentile, many of us would like to have handwritten invitations and pearl-encrusted gowns, we just can’t afford them.

Servo in the USA

Unless you are an engineer, you probably have no idea what a servo is, or what it is used for. The funny thing is that a servo is something that is inside a lot of everyday items we use. Among the common objects with a servo in the USA are: cars, autofocus cameras, and hard disk drives. Other uses include factory machinery, robots, and marine and air navigation systems, among others. These motors are very sophisticated At the industrial level, when a servo machine breaks down, you will have to find a specialist in servo drive repair , especially if it is specific to a manufacturer such as a Parker servo drive . Like other servo drive mechanics, specialists in Yaskawa servo motor repair or Fanuc servo motor repair can easily be found online.

But one of the most common places you can find a servo motor is in a child's toy. While the concept of radio control has been around since 1893, as demonstrated by Nikola Tesla, the use of servo motors for the purpose of controlling the movement of a toy came much later. Remote-controlled toys such as planes, boats, and cars use servo drive motors to power the device as well as give the user the ability to steer the toy in the desired direction using a pulse width modulation system. Servo motors are controlled using pulses of energy and the duration of this pulse determines the distance the toy wil travel.

A servo is the device of choice for these toys because it combines three important components in one small package: it is a small motor running on DC (direct current), while increasing torque using a gear reduction drive and a feedback control loop. This system is simplified for children's toys. For hobbyists, more high-end servo RC systems are available, using a computerized signal as compared with analog signals. Like other serious hobbyists and robotics engineers, you can build your own servo motor from the comfort of your home. All you need is a bit of technical know-how, some materials, and a great deal of patience. How-to guides are widely available, in book format as well as online, where you can find websites and videos dedicated to this task. You can also expect a great deal of support and technical know-how from the online community of hobbyists. Some websites and companies also sell a build-it-yourself servo engine kit.

There's nothing worse than a vehicle which has the check engine light come on when you're going down the road. Even if the vehicle is replying normally you've got to stop and consider if you are doing damage by continuing to drive. Is there something to worry about? Is the light just on for regular maintenance? One doesn't know when you are just going down the road and if the auto is still driving correctly you do not have any way to guess what is going on. How do you find out what is wrong? You use an OBD II vehicle scanner.

If you don't know what this is you do not have one, so you must head to your local repair center and have them run a diagnostic test on the vehicle. The store may charge you anywhere from $50 to $150 for this test that literally takes a pair minutes to complete. The car scanner will be able to talk the language of the automobile and work out what the difficulty is. The scanner will come back with the codes that are causing the check engine light to come on, and the store will tell you what desires to be fixed for the light to be turned off and kept off.

If you know plenty about vehicles or you want to start doing more of your own repairs you might want to consider getting your own scanner. One of the more credible scanners is the Actron OBD II Autoscanner. These scanners are so easy to use and will supply you with all the info that you need to diagnose the problem, fix it, and then clear the code so the check engine light will go off.

When you use the Actron OBD II Autoscanner you'll be in a position to simply retrieve the trouble codes from your auto. The scanners fit with all OBD II compliant vehicles, which are those vehicles that were made from 1996 and on. The majority of the units feature a large and simple to red LCD screen which will show the difficulty codes as well as their descriptions so you can easily define what sort of issue you are dealing with.

The scanners also monitor the standing and emissions readiness. With a one year guarantee from the maker, the Actron OBD II Autoscanner is a great buy. With many models to choose from you'll be certain to find one in your price range.

Online Discount Tire Stores: The Best Prices Directly From The Supplier

We've all had this happen to us. You wake, walk out to your car, and find out that one of your car tires is completely flat. You had noticed that it was a little low on air the other day, but kept saying to yourself that you would fill with air later. Upon closer inspection, you notice that the tread is almost gone, and you're better off just getting a new tire, or replacing all of your tires. You can always go down to your local tire shop, but the quickest way to find the best deals is to start your search for discount tire stores online.Yeah, you could always comb through the yellow pages directory, but it's a lot easier to go to Google, type it in, and get instant results.

I'm going to be honest with you, shopping online can be a drag sometimes. The main drawback is that you aren't able to touch and feel the product before you buy it. That's why it's a good idea to head down to your local tire store and check out the tires you need right there in their showroom before purchasing them online. Plus, you might find that the store you are using to do your research is having a sale on that specific model that day. That can really cut down your search and you no longer have to an online search for discount tire stores any longer.

Now let's say you didn't take the time and go down to the store to try on the clothes before purchasing the clothes online. The clothes are delivered to your home, you try them on, and find that they don't fit at all. Now it's a big pain to ship all of the clothes back to the online store, try on the right sized clothes at the store, go home and reorder everything all over again. This same scenario also applies to your car tires. So head down to the tire shop and make sure that the tires you are going to buy online actually fit your car.

Now you will have to wait a few extra days for the tire shop to sort your shipment order and find the right tire size you need. If you take this approach, then you can see how shopping online for a discount tire store can be a really big pain in the butt. However, there are some things you can shop for online that are really simple and easy to do. Pretty much all items that don't need to be tried on first, are great things to purchase from an online store.

If you're looking to but a standardized part for your car, like a tire, then it will be pretty easy to do online, because all you need is the tire size for your car. It's pretty simple to make sure your buying the right tire size. Just head outside, check out the tire size of your current tires and you're all done. Tires come in standardized sizes, so you don't have to worry about a specific size being a little bigger or smaller from different tire manufacturers. A Firestone and a Michelin tire will be exact same size for your car.

Searching online for discount tire stores can be a little tricky. We all know that there are plenty of scams on the internet looking for different ways to rob us of our hard earned money. Once you find a couple of sites to buy your tires from, check and see if they have a phone number listed. If they don't, that's a sure fire sign that the site probably isn't legitimate. If there is a phone number, call it, verify they have the car tire you need, then place your order online. This is the best way on cutting down on the risk of getting scammed.

The next step is to make a list of five or so websites that have your tire. Take that list and do little more research to make that the site is real and has your tire in stock. Once you do that, you are ready to buy your tire.

Another quick way to get feedback on a discount tire store online is to check their reviews. If you go to a site like yelp.com, yellowpages.com, or just type in the websites url and reviews into Google, and you'll get reviews on other customers' experiences. If you aren't satisfied with just the reviews, you go a step further and go to forums where people are talking about specific discount tire stores.

Battery Chargers for Cars

A while back, the battery charger cables would be clamped onto the terminals of your battery, you pushed a button, and you waited for a bit. You would glance at the dial occasionally to assure yourself that you weren't overcharging the battery, and you shut it off at the exact time it was done.

Fortunately, the charging operations have become significantly easier than they once were. Almost every car has a 12 volt battery, and so do marine batteries and power sporting equipment. You must use a battery charger that is suitable for your battery to extend its life and save money in the long run. If you decide not to use the kind of charger that is suggested by your battery manufacturer, the warranty you have on your lead acid battery, AGM, or gel cell may be null and void. Using an improper charger can damage your battery.

To ascertain which battery charger is the best one for the kind of battery you have, there are some things you must know. First of all, find out what kind of battery is in your car, and find out how much storage capacity it has. Because your car battery is typically just utilized when starting your automobile, for lighting, and for your music system when your car isn't operating, and the battery recharges when the car is running, you may not feel that storage capacity is that important.

The regular automobile battery can hold about 50 amp hours, while a marine battery may store 100 amp hours. Both kinds of batteries provide 12 volts of electricity; however, if entirely dead, they will recharge for different quantities of time with a charger that carries 10 amps, say six to eleven hours, respectively. Be sure that the automobile battery charger you are getting has sufficient charging power to satisfy your requirements. If a charger has more power, the time that it will take to get your battery operational will be shorter.

Now that we have thrown all of that at you you, let us make it even simpler. All your really going to need to be doing when you finally get a car battery charger home is connect it to your car battery, plug it in and walk away. We got a little technical there just so you could see how things are working. Some of you wanted to know I am sure.

Electricity 4 Gas - Electric Car Motor Conversion

Most people nowadays are considering doing an Electric Car Motor Conversion because of the undeniably continuous oil price hikes that we are faced with. Aside from the rising fuel prices, fossil fuels are beginning to become depleted and our environment is also slowly deteriorating due to massive carbon emissions from cars which contribute to global warming.

Electric cars are different from gasoline-powered vehicles in terms of their sources of power. Gasoline-powered vehicles, from the name itself, are powered by gasoline. These conventional vehicles have a gasoline engine which is replaced by an electric motor in electric cars. The electric motor is perhaps the single most important part of the electric car. There are principally two main types of motors for the electric car conversion ? the AC and the DC conversion systems.

The basic electric car conversion kit comes with a motor, a battery, and a control mechanism. The batteries can be charged using the energy generated by the original engine of the car or by plugging the car in a separate wall outlet.

The idea of retrofitting your existing car to run on electricity is quite a simple process, which involves the removal of the internal combustion engine in order for it to be replaced with an electric motor. Since the engine is gone, all the connecting or associated components such as the gas tank, fuel lines, radiator, fuel pump, and exhaust pipe are to be removed as well. The motor is connected directly to the existing transmission unit. A series of deep cycle batteries are used to power the electric motor. To supply sufficient power to the motor, ten to fifteen units of lead acid batteries may be necessary.

Performing an electric car motor conversion is not that difficult. You can always refer to electric car kits to give you the correct procedures and complete electric car conversion instructions.

Want To Lease A Car? Take A Look At This!

There is another big disadvantage: in the event of your car getting damaged or stolen, you insurance and the gap cost will not cover the loss. Then you should take a look at instant same day loans or mortgage deals

Even people working from home have little trouble putting 15,000 miles on their cars. If you exceed the mileage limit, the penalty for each excess mile can be as high as 20 cents. This can add up quickly over the length of your lease: an additional 4,000 miles a year over the length of a 3-years lease contract, will end up costing you an extra $2,400 in excess mileage charges!

Sales tax is usually capitalized and added to the monthly payments. However, some dealers choose not to include it in their calculations to drive the advertised lease payments even lower. What they do instead is state in the small print that the monthly payment excludes "sales tax".

Make sure you carefully read the fine print for any extra, hidden costs not included in the advertised monthly payment. Unscrupulous fees that typically slip through the cracks include sales tax, registration and title fees.

Using this sum works because the money factor is the annual interest rate devided by 24, rather than 12. Continuing with our example and assuming an interest rate of 6% APR: $30,000 X (6 per cent / 24) = $75 (Capitalized cost + residual value) X (interest rate / 24) = Monthly finance charge.

Suppose you decide to lease a vehicle with a retail price of $23,500. The leasing company estimates that after a three year lease, the vehicle will be worth 35% of its original retail value, or $8,225. The difference, $15,275, divided by the number of months in the lease, 36 months, gives us the depreciation fee ($424)

Mileage charges a penalty that you incur if you exceed your mileage allowance on a leased vehicle. Typical mileage charges are 10 to 20 cents per excess mile. Money-factor A fractional number, such as 0.00043, used in calculating your monthly lease payments. You can get a rough estimate of the annual percentage rate on your lease by multiplying the money factor by 2,400. If a dealer quotes a money factor such as 3.4 than you can get the equivalent APR, 8.16, if you multiply by 2.4.

Residual value Residual value is the amount of money the leasing company says your leased vehicle will be worth when your lease ends. Higher residual values lead to lower monthly payments but higher lease-end purchase cost if you decide to keep the vehicle.
