Picking The Best Race For Mage As Alliance

Anyone who cares about min/maxing their new mage is going to want to know what the best race for mage is. Picking based on looks is great, but if you either like all the races or just don't care, picking based on racials is the best option. We'll talk about the pros and cons of each of the three Alliance mage races.

First to bat is human. They have a few talents that make them awesome choices for PvP mages. Every Man for Himself acts as a PvP trinket...meaning you can now equip two normal trinkets. Given the massive power of top-end PvE trinkets, this is an enormous bonus for any PvP mage. Add in Perception for busting rogues out of stealth, and you have a great PvP race.

But what about PvE? Every Man for Himself will let you get out of CC and back to DPSing on occasion, but that's very situational and won't mean much in the long run. And the 3% Spirit bonus is just laughable. If PvE is all you're interested in, I'd skip over human.

Next option for potential alliance mages is gnome. Escape Artist is another great PvP racial with limited PvE uses, as is Arcane Resistance...but Expansive Mind is an amazing all-around racial that will impact heavily on both PvE and PvP mages. So gnome is a great all around choice for anyone rolling mage.

Last choice for mage are the infamous blueberries, Draenei. Their HoT racial, Gift of the Naaru, can be handy in PvP and in some situations in PvE; not dying is a great way to improve your DPS. And even if you aren't in too much risk of dying, taking pressure off overtaxed raid healers can be helpful.

Gift of the Naaru isn't the big thing on the Draenei racial list though. Heroic Presence, a 1% hit bonus to yourself and your party, is what makes them worth rolling. Missing spells can prove fatal in PvP and gimp DPS in PvE, so being capped is vital...and this talent means you can stat more offensive stats instead of stacking hit. Rounding out their racial list is a 2% shadow resistance, all together making Draenei another good choice for mage.

So everything is a decent option Alliance side...but what is the best race for mage? Well, Human is hands down the best for PvP. High end trinkets are massively powerful, and being able to equip two is just amazing for PvP.

And for PvE? It kind of depends. If you are going to be running with other Draenei, then Heroic Presence is wasted, since it doesn't stack. And even then, the Intellect bonus from Gnome is hard to ignore. So I'd say in most cases, Gnome is going to pan out to be your best choice for PvE.

Everytime I start a new toon to get involved in the vicious battles in WAR, I follow the leveling path of a Warhammer Online leveling guide. That's because I want to reach the end game battles as fast as possible, without struggling with my progress. This guide has taught me many tricks to hasten my XP as well as the best leveling methods. Therefore, I'm going to present here, the fastest leveling methods in Warhammer Online.

Combine Questing And Grinding For Maximum XP. In Warhammer Online doing quests is a nice way to level up your toon especially if there are no players to fill up a scenario. So, while in queue for scenarios, instead of going AFK work on 2-3 quests to get additional XP. This Warhammer Online leveling guide has created for me nice questing path and following it I was able to keep a high XP flow. Also, when killing mobs at one camp it's a good idea to kill them with AoE if possible. The more and fast you kill, the more XP you'll get.

Scenarios. These are the battlegrounds of Warhammer Online. Each scenario will grant you a fair amount of XP and a juicy XP bonus if you faction win. So, playing with a few friends as a team will boost up your faction's chances to win any scenario. Also, there are specific repeatable quests for any scenario in Warhammer Online and completing them with the occasion of every battle you will get nice XP.

Warhammer Online Public Quests. I usually don't get involved in any Public Quests unless I need the gear rewards. It usually takes time to find a group able to finish all the 3 phases of a PQ and killing 100 mobs or so in phase one is a waste of time if you're solo. However, if you manage to find a good group and a place with 2-3 PQs close together it's a good idea to join. The Warhammer Online leveling guide I've been following has pointed out for me a few worthy PQs.
